Gmail provides a basic interface where you can create and edit a simple email signature for yourself. If you are looking for instructions on how to add a picture like a photo or a logo to your email signature then we have a step by step guide for you on how to accomplish that.
The default Gmail signature editor can be frustrating to create anything but the simplest of email signatures. If you are looking for a more robust tool that can help you create a beautiful email signature that can make you and your organization look more professional then I would recommend you check out the editor and pre-made templates on Signature.email.
Here is a step by step process of how to add an image into Gmail's Email Signature Editor:
-
Open the Gmail website. In the top right, click the Gear icon.
-
This will launch the Quick Settings menu, click the See all settings button.
-
In the General tab scroll down until you see the Signature section.
This is the primary area where you can manage signatures in Gmail. You can add multiple signatures if you want to switch between them, and you can edit and delete them when needed.
-
Choose the Signature you want to edit and add a line or click inside the signature to choose where you want the image to be added
-
In the formatting menu below, click on the icon that looks like a box with mountains. This is the Insert Image button.
-
Gmail will ask you where you want to get your image from. There are three tabs: My Drive, Upload, or Web Address (URL). If you want to choose a file from your computer, choose Upload
-
Once you have added the image you may click on the image to resize it. Unfortunately Gmail only gives you Small, Medium, and Large options, which is a bit limiting. (Try our generator instead!)
This step is optional, and may depend on what you want.
-
If you want to add a link to the uploaded image, you have to drag to select the image, and then hit the chain icon to add a hyperlink to a website.
-
Be sure to scroll down and click Save so that your changes are kept!
